Ah, that's an interesting missing step in the developer guide, since it implicitly assumes a core dev will be doing the backport. The commit you want to start with is this one, rather than the commits from your original PR branch: b3527bf So you'll want to update to the latest version of the main branch and regenerate the backport PRs based on that so they include the relevant commit message. Sorry about that! Note: I've also filed python/devguide#238 to cover fixing our written instructions to explicitly mention that step. |
