"vorübergehend" -> "zeitig" because "zeitige Strafe" sounds more natural than "vorübergehende Strafe"

"result in an infringement" is unclear, an infringement != a penalty

"exzessive" -> "besonders schwere" sounds fine and avoids the anglicism, but I'm not entirely sure

need help translating "Conspiring to obtain or otherwise using private information to gain or confer an advantage" and finding and using a better word than "minimalen zeitigen Turniersperre" (something along the lines of "Mindestdauer").

Hi, I did not see at first that you also made suggestions for the original article. Please split changes on English articles and translations up because this will make the review process much easier (maybe except if the change only concerns grammar, which is not the case here I think).

This review was done under the premise that the English changes are merged as-is.

The changes were minor; I had reviewed the German article first, and then seen some ways of phrasing things that weren't great, but then realized the same issue was in the English version, so I changed it as well to maintain content parity.

It is difficult to extrapolate "language correctness" between different languages. Some of the stuff changed also changes the meaning of some sentences, such as:

All users returning to the game after a restriction under the standard appeal terms are also subject to a minimum temporary tournament ban of 1 year, which may be higher at the discretion of the account support team.

This implies that the restriction being given to the users may initially be higher at the time of an unrestriction, whereas the original meaning implies that at any given point during the unrestriction this length can be lengthened, at the behest of the account support team.

As TheLastCookie suggested, please split the PRs and consult the changes with TComm first to make sure any rewords made do not change the original meaning behind the sentences.

I can understand the reasoning behind the changes on the original article, but I don't agree with some of them. As Marti has rightfully brought up, it slightly alters the meaning behind what's said and changes how it will be interpreted. While these changes are fairly minor, I would only really consider doing changes in the first place if there's confusion regarding what's currently on the page. I don't think that's the case here?

Please reduce this PR to only cover the German translation. We can discuss changes to the English article in a different PR, or through Discord to see what is actually necessary or an improvement to the page.

@TicClick if by "merge #13652" you mean "add the changes from it", that PR is based on this one, and my next commit will finish that job

Please take a close look at my review. There are a lot of grammar issues, especially grammatical cases and gender. Language is difficult 😅

Not entirely sure about "Probezeit von Veranstaltern" since "zeit" might imply a time limit that doesn't exist.
"Probezustand" might be an alternative, although it is a bit more literal.

While I understand your concern, I do not see an issue here as the article explicitely does not mention any concrete timespan. If someone asks when the probation ends, we can link this article. Nevertheless, Probezustand sounds odd to me. Personally, I prefer Probezeit over Zustand.

"Übliche Beschwerdebedingungen" refers to the conditions imposed on unrestricted users. This suggestion for a translation incorrectly implies there are "standard appeal conditions" for tournament sanctions, and that the 72-hour appeal window is an exception to them.
