It seems nobody maintain PRs ? |
|
@bnb - who could take care of this? |
|
@nodejs/ctc (?) This would probably necessitate us checking the wiki here from time to time... |

@danielkhan @Fishrock123 @jsonbruce I can take care of this - sorry, didn't get a notification for it. I am slightly reluctant to add a link to the wiki for a few reasons. There's not much content there right now - this can very frequently lead to a disheartening and bad experience for newcomers to a project looking to get help or learn. That said, I would absolutely love to change this. The instructions are also for the v.6.x Stable branch - it would be really rad to also include the LTS branch install instructions in the Wiki page for a comprehensive install guide before the install instructions go live. Additionally, as @Fishrock123 said, this would be a long-term maintenance thing. The installation instructions are currently slightly outdated, with them instructing to install v6.5.0. I'm absolutely 👍 on adding this! I just want to make sure there's not any confusion for people looking for help in the repo down the road. |

If we aren't going to use the wiki (well), we should either restrict editing, or disable it and move the content into the other docs. |

+1 for limiting the wiki on help to ensure we keep the canonical resource fresh. Let's also be sure we're pointing folks to these resources. https://github.com/nodejs/node/wiki/Installation is the canonical resource. |

@bnb Should we go ahead & merge this? It's been sitting for a while. Yah or Nah |
|
@bnb is this not relevant anymore? If yes, please close it. |

@nodejs/collaborators @nodejs/community-committee someone please take care of this thing or we'll have to start celebrating its birthday like those old mozilla bugs... |
