In my setup, ImageMagick is not available as a PHP module in web hosting, but rather as an executable.
My hoster says: "The PHP extension, which is developed by a third party and is not an official part of PHP, is not available in web hosting for security reasons. The extension’s attack surface is too large. The developers themselves also advise against using it (see https://github.com/Imagick/imagick -> Security)."
Describe the solution you'd like
some option/input for the path to the executable so NC can take advantage of the executable instead throwing an error because of the missing php-module.
I do not think we will implement this, using the binary would have the same security issues as using the PHP module.
So there is no benefit of doing so.
Instead we recommend to use the Imaginary preview provider which can run in a dedicated secured container.
