Description
Problem
Netdata’s documentation no longer mentions ScyllaDB, even though it appears to have supported or at least referenced it in the past (see attached screenshot)
Since ScyllaDB is protocol-compatible with Cassandra, it’s unclear whether the existing Cassandra integration still works for ScyllaDB or if additional configuration is required.
This creates uncertainty for users who would like to monitor ScyllaDB clusters with Netdata.
Description
Please add documentation (or confirmation) about ScyllaDB monitoring support.
Even if it relies on the existing Cassandra collector, explicitly noting compatibility and providing setup guidance for ScyllaDB would be valuable.
If any adjustments are required (e.g., connection details, JMX exporter configuration, or metric name differences), documenting them would make adoption straightforward.
Importance
nice to have
Value proposition
- Growing demand: ScyllaDB is a high-performance alternative to Cassandra that’s seeing increasing adoption.
- Retention benefit: Organisations already using Netdata for Cassandra monitoring could continue using it seamlessly after migrating to ScyllaDB.
- Clarity and time savings: Explicit documentation would save users time spent experimenting or searching for compatibility answers.
Proposed implementation
Return ScyllaDB to the list of supported databases on this page
