I often use ncmpcpp as my main MPD client, and while it’s very feature-rich and lightweight, I find myself wishing it could display the album art of the currently playing track.

I’d like ncmpcpp to optionally display album art beside the playlist or in the “now playing” view.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I’ve tried using external scripts (e.g., via mpc current and chafa) to display the album art in another pane using tmux or Kitty splits. While this works, it feels disconnected from the ncmpcpp interface
