Feature request (Extension): Always intercept specific links instead of requiring right click #535
Thanks for all the awesome work on this project! Google Meet has problems with Firefox support so Finicky has been a great way to easily jump into meetings without having to migrate away from Firefox for everything else.
I'm not sure if this is possible with the way browser extension permissions work, but for some URLs, I'd like to be able to always open with Finicky instead of having to right click to do so. For example, when in my google calendar and click on the Join Meeting button, I'd like it to route through Finicky so that it opens in Chrome.
@DidierLoiseau I wouldn't mind configuring in both places. Although, if there's a way to give the extension read access to the existing config, that'd be even better.
@fchengpc that worked like a charm! Feel free to close this request, if it's not in the roadmap since tampermonkey seems to solve this in the way I was looking for.
It worked for me as well with Redirector but I had to configure it together with the rewrite rule described in the wiki:
rewrite: [{// Support bookmarks like finicky://open?url=https://example.commatch: "finicky://open?url=*",url: (url)=>{returnurl.searchParams.get("url");},}]

I suppose it would require to configure the URL patterns in the extension as well, but I think it would be a nice feature indeed.
It would probably require a mechanism to avoid looping, e.g. only intercept clicked links and not links directly open from outside.

Thanks for considering!

You could use a plugin like TamperMonkey to scan and update the link from
https://tofinicky://or use a plugin like RedirectorDreaminDani commentedon Jul 28, 2026
