Description
Hi,
The recent microcode-20251111 release didn't include a link to security advisory page. I guess it's because this release is not a security patch but a functional patch.
Advantage of security advisory page is the table that contains the affected CPUIDs with their platform ID.
For example microcode-20250812 release is linked to multiple security advisories, such as for example INTEL-SA-01249 with the "Affected Products" table.
Without such mapping table, it's very tricky to get the CPUID & Platform ID needed to identify which CPUs are affected by an update: it requires manual guess work based on the PI of the F-M-S/PI notation on the release page and opening each pdf file looking for the CPUID.
On recent microcode-20251111 release, I could guess the following:
| CPUID | Platform ID | Product Name |
|---|---|---|
| 90672 | 07 | 12th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family |
| 90675 | 07 | 12th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family |
| 906A3 | 80 | 12th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family |
| 906A4 | 80 | 12th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family |
| B06A2 | E0 | 13th/14th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Specification Update |
| B06A3 | E0 | 13th/14th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Specification Update |
| B0671 | 32 | 13th/14th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Specification Update |
| B06F2 | 07 | 13th/14th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Specification Update |
| B06F5 | 07 | 13th/14th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Specification Update |
| B06E0 | 19 | Intel® Processors and Intel® Core™ i3 N-Series |
| B06E0 | 19 | Intel® Processors and Intel® Core™ i3 N-Series |
| B06D1 | 80 | Intel® Core™ Ultra 200 V Series Processor |
| C0652 | 82 | Intel® Core™ Ultra Processor (Series 2) |
| C0662 | 82 | Intel® Core™ Ultra Processor (Series 2) |
| A06E1 | 97 | Intel® Xeon® 6700P-B/6500P-B-Series SoC with P-Cores |
| A06D1 | 95 | Intel® Xeon® 6900/6700/6500 Series Processors with P-cores |
| A06F3 | 01 | Intel® Xeon® 6700 Series Processors with E-cores |
| 806F7 | 87 | 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors Specification Update |
| 806F8 | 87 | 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors Specification Update |
| C06F2 | 87 | 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors Specification Update |
In addition to the fact that it is tricky to get this information, there are missing pdf link for the following products listed in the release page:
- Atom C1100
- Xeon 6700/6500-Series Processors with P-Cores
- Xeon Max
Can you provide me this information for those 3 products ?
For further releases, what is the correct/easiest generic way to get the CPUID/Platform Id information ?
Thanks
