Thanks for the detailed diagnosis. This sounds like the AZERTY/non-QWERTY shortcut issue addressed in #6289, which shipped in v2026.4.0 (corresponding Desktop App version: 26.4.0).

That release added a Desktop App keyboard layout strategy setting. The Smart (recommended) default (Settings → Desktop → Keyboard) uses the typed letter for Latin layouts, so on AZERTY pressing the A keycap fires Ctrl+A rather than Ctrl+Q.

A few things to confirm:

  1. Which Hoppscotch Desktop App version are you on?
  2. If you're on 26.4.0 or newer, which option is selected under Settings → Desktop → Keyboard?

Please let us know if it persists after updating to the latest version.
