My native language is indeed German 😉 Regarding your idea: you found a missing piece in the logic puzzle - thanks for that! The current behavior is indeed that when a cover's heat protection requirements are no longer met, it immediately moves up to its minimum position. If you have a cover with tilt support, it makes a lot of sense to first move only the slats to the open position and only then, after a configurable delay, move the entire cover up to its minimum position. I just implemented this in BTW: testing is very welcome! |

LG Christian

I just implemented this in *main* via #129[#129]. Please see the updated documentation[https://ha-smart-cover-automation.helgeklein.com/configuration-wizard/#step-4-tilt-angle-control-optional].
BTW: testing is very welcome!

For the sake of people who don't speak or read German I'll stick to English. Please observe and report back regarding the (only) 95% opening issue - but please create a new discussion or issue for that (different) topic. |

Hi Helge,
first thanks for this very useful integration and the last update concerning the opening options on night closure, I'm still testing.
Another idea, as I use the external sun entity tied to a light sensor in a motion sensor - could it be possible (and hopefully useful) to introduce a wait time and change of behavior to this external switch. I use a 1500lx hysteresis, but on thicker clouds the blinds go up all the way and down again when the defined threshold plus hysteris is exceeded. So I'd like the automation to just tilt the blinds back to horizontal (no more glare) for a (definable) time before they start to open fully in answer to the external sun sensor beeing off.
If this idea sounds interesting you might give it a thought.
How about getting rid (optionally) of the weather integration as I can use local temperature values (also from the motion sensor(s) mentioned above).
LG Chris (as I assume your native language is German)
