Composer 2 give a significant reduction in build times, and Composer 1 is now deprecated https://blog.packagist.com/composer-2-0-is-now-available/
The required PR for Composer 2 support has now been merged for 12 days.

But without a tagged release we're still unable to use Composer 2, can you please tag the release?
