WIP, don't merge yet.

Todo at least these:

  • SVG or hires couch image for the front page
  • White logo (now black)
  • Expand navbar full width (or leave it as is?)
  • Adjust text sizes at the frontpage
  • Work on icons (Fontello?, Materialize icons?) — specifically there should be an icon in front of search-input
  • Sticky footer
  • Work on the list visuals
  • Filtering
  • Country flags
  • Fix mobile header-navi (might require some JS) Mobile first / responsive design #52
  • Fix tests failing due href="#" somewhere
  • Merge map view into this PR

Low prio:

  • Animate cat+computer
  • Add "Add your couch" -modal

...and a lot of small tweaking around to make it look more like in the layouts (#7).

@chettyarun Could you pass the sofa as an svg or hires png (tho also any other format is fine)? I feel like it's first important just to get it there and animate it later.

Here you go!
laptop 2x
couch 2x
shelf 2x
meow 2x

All are PNG at 2X size
Let me know if you need any changes with the files :)

@chettyarun nah, didn't work more on this yet. Patience. ;-)

If anyone feels like working on this, don't hesitate to push some features in!

Some thoughts:

Search input is nice but I would do it as a last bit and keep just a button at the front page for now. Search becomes really useful only after we have more users.

I still like a separate (linkable) profile-page, so I started working on it. That said, there can be a popup-version as well. Just make sure opening to a new tab doesn't open the list but profile page and simply clicking/tapping opens the popup version? Again, I think we can publish this already without the popup version and work on it afterwards.

Oh and thanks for the files!

The best way would be to degrade gracefully. So middle-clicks and ctrl-clicks should open the profile in new tab, and the profile should technically link to a new page, but if the user has JS enabled, we can hijack the click and show the popup.

So, things we can skip out for later:

  • Popups
  • Search

@chettyarun @captn3m0 I decided against adding country flags. I feel like e.g. "Germany" is way more clearer rather than 🇩🇪 — and while people might recognise flags of big nations, no-one knows the small ones. Thoughts?

I'm fine with leaving out the country flags.

Cool. Sounds good. I'm fine too for leaving the country flags.
