Upgrading to Rails 6 directly allows us to remove deprecation warnings for apps using this gem that also want to upgrade to Rails 6 without adding a bunch of conditional logic around handling different Rails versions.
If we'd rather support different Rails versions with the same version of the gem, I'm happy to go that direction. This just seemed like the path of least resistance. 😃
