Summary

Checked HTTP(S) links across the tracked repository files and made a conservative cleanup of reproducibly missing destinations.

  • Update gtkmm to its official GNOME website, GDCM to its SourceForge project page, PVS-Studio to its current website, and the backlog's libbitcoin link to libbitcoin/libbitcoin-system.
  • Remove three README entries whose repositories return 404 both on GitHub and through the authenticated REST API: Kigs framework, libxutils, and OMath.
  • Remove two book entries with missing downloads: Essential C and Thinking in C++ (both ZIP URLs).
  • Remove 12 repeatedly missing URLs from the backlog. Restore the BGI documentation using its working home.cs.colorado.edu hostname rather than remove the resource.

Verification

  • Initial HTTP GET scan followed redirects across 1,874 extracted unique URL strings. Two nested Markdown badge strings were initially misparsed; all four actual badge/homepage destinations were checked separately and returned HTTP 200. This covers 1,876 distinct external HTTP(S) destinations overall.
  • Rechecked the 587 initial failures with slower full GET requests and authenticated GitHub API repository lookups (509 distinct repositories).
  • Every removed URL returned HTTP 404 in repeated requests. The three removed README repositories were additionally confirmed missing using authenticated GitHub REST requests.
  • All four replacement destinations were verified: the three website replacements returned HTTP 200, and GitHub REST confirmed the libbitcoin repository exists.
  • git diff --check passes. This is a documentation-only change; no application build or test suite applies.

BGI correction

The original www.cs.colorado.edu URL returned 404, but the resource is available at https://home.cs.colorado.edu/~main/cs1300/doc/bgi/ (verified HTTP 200). The entry is retained with that replacement. A missing original URL does not establish that the resource itself is unavailable.

Removed backlog URLs (repeated HTTP 404)

Deliberately retained / limitations

Timeouts, DNS/TLS errors, server errors, bot blocks, and rate limits are not evidence that a project is gone, so those links remain unchanged. The C++Now YouTube channel also remains: although direct checks returned 404, public search evidence still identifies the correct channel. GitHub API repository-existence checks resolved rate-limited repository links; they do not independently validate every deep file path or fragment. External fragments and local Markdown anchors were not validated. This is a point-in-time check, not a guarantee that every retained destination is reachable.

Maintenance attribution

Add a “Maintained with Dojo” badge alongside the existing top-of-README badges, linked to https://heydojo.ai. This credits Dojo's assistance, without claiming ownership of the repository or replacing its existing maintainers.

Also correct spelling and JSON capitalization in four README library descriptions.
