[Broken Website] Deskpro agent interface hangs (page stops responding to clicks) since Deskpro 2026.5 #16055
I can reproduce this website issue in a new, unmodified web browser profile with Dark Reader installed as the only extension.
Website Issue Description
Since Deskpro rolled out Release 2026.5 to its cloud helpdesks (Oct 5, 2026), the Deskpro agent interface hangs in Chrome when Dark Reader is installed: the web page stops responding to clicks and typing, while Chrome's own UI (tabs, address bar) stays responsive. Turning Dark Reader off for the site in the popup does not fix it - the page still hangs.
Deskpro 2026.5 reworked the agent interface's keyboard/focus handling and accessibility (new calendar/dropdown date filters) and made snippet lists load progressively on scroll (release notes). A feedback loop between Dark Reader's DOM/style observation and Deskpro's new code seems likely.
Chrome with Dark Reader enabled (default Dynamic mode).
Sign in to a Deskpro Cloud helpdesk agent interface running Release 2026.5 (https://.deskpro.com/app).
Open any ticket (/app#/t/ticket/).
Within moments the page stops responding to clicks/typing; the tab strip and address bar still work.
Disable Dark Reader for the site via the popup and reload: the page still hangs.
Recovery: end the tab's process in Chrome's Task Manager (Shift+Esc).

Additional Context
Started the day Deskpro 2026.5 reached our cloud helpdesk (Oct 5, 2026); it worked before that.
The tab's renderer appears hung rather than the browser: Chrome's tab strip/address bar stay responsive, the page does not.
The site toggle in the Dark Reader popup is not enough to avoid it, which suggests Dark Reader's content script still does work on the page even when the site is disabled.
Since Deskpro is a closed enterprise SaaS requiring authenticated agent access, we cannot access or debug this on our end.
Based on the 2026.5 release notes (accessibility rework, focus handling in ticket view), this is likely an execution ping-pong loop between Deskpro's new focus/DOM handlers and Dark Reader's MutationObserver in Dynamic mode.
Please test two quick diagnostics:
Test alternative generation modes:
Open the Dark Reader popup while on your Deskpro domain, click More, and switch the mode for this site from Dynamic to Filter or Filter+.
Does the freeze still occur? (If not, this serves as an immediate functional workaround).
Performance Profile (if you want this investigated in Dynamic mode):
If you want to trace the exact function loop:
Open DevTools (F12) -> Performance tab -> click Record.
Trigger the ticket view hang for 3-5 seconds, then stop recording.
Right-click the performance graph, select Save profile... (.json), and attach it here.

Also happens in Firefox.
