Previously been asked and declined in #5659 - though I can't say I agree with the decline reasons provided back then
& re asked for in #8177 & some discussion in #8867
However it's 2+years since the original decline and discussions are a much missing area of the gh cli tool especially for teams that are using them whether at org and/or repo level
This should be as important a new feature to the cli as was adding issue or pr support & should not be implemented as an extension or by us via wrapping around other API endpoints using the gh api call
I know this isn't a small ask but it is needed & wanted
