BepInEx Sound Mod

This mod can:

  • Replace sounds in the game at startup by matching the filenames. If there are multiple sounds with the same filename -- it'll unfortunately replace them all for now.
  • Change the volume of any sound to a custom percentage. This should theoretically be compatible with any game; but this project was made for Unity 2021.3.16 2017.4.16 and written in .NET 3.5.

Installation

  1. Install BepInEx 5 for your game
  2. Put the .dll inside of the BepInEx/plugins directory
  3. Create a sounds directory or run the game once for the plugin to create one for you
  4. (Replacing sounds): Place sounds named exactly after the sound name in-game in OGG/WAV/AIFF/ACC/MPEG format in the sounds directory (subdirectories are supported)
  5. (Change volumes): Place .txt files in the "sounds" directory (subdirectories are supported), the examples below are equivalent
    • "Majestic sound 1": 0.30
    • Majestic sound 1: 30%
    • 'Majestic sound 1': 0.3 # This is a comment
    • As you can see above, the quotes ('') or double quotes ("") around the sound name are optional
    • Comments are supported! Everything after a comment (#) will be ignored
    • Empty lines will also be ignored
  6. Play!

Tested games:

  • Virtual Virtual Reality
  • VR Dungeon Knight (works fully only after the cutscene at the start is finished playing...)
