This screen allows you to specify either files or directories for comparison.

There are two sections to the screen:

Comparison mode allows you to specify the type of comparison to perform:

• Compare Specific Selected Assemblies

In this mode, you manually browse for each individual assembly (DLL or EXE) file that you wish to compare. Each file selected will be compared to the others in the order that you select them. This option is appropriate when you have two or more versions of a given assembly that have changed over time.

In this mode, the comparison results window will show one assembly representing the list of files that you selected.

• Compare All Assemblies in Selected Directories

In this mode, you select directories that you want to compare. All assemblies in the selected directories will be compared to each other in the order that you selected them. This option is appropriate when you have two or more builds of a product, which contain multiple related assemblies, and you want to compare those entire builds.

In this mode, the comparison results window will show each discovered assembly individually and allow you to browse them.

The selection list control is where you browse for files or directories according to the mode selection made directly above it. Keep in mind that the assemblies will be compared in the order that you select them.
