I wonder how I can enable tooling calling when using ollama's gpt-oss-20B? It seems gpt-oss-20B supports browsing the web and other tooling calling function, but is there any way to configure openevolve to also support this? Thanks!
@codelion Thanks for the reply. I assume it is also possible to create an openai-compatible wrapper that takes an existing message and insert tool calling/websearch function into the prompt correct? My impression is openevolve just expects an openai-compatible API so this should work as well?

You can use OptiLLM to put the model behind a proxy where you can do tool calling or more complex agent workflow for each request. See the example in https://github.com/algorithmicsuperintelligence/openevolve/tree/main/examples/web_scraper_optillm that shows how to use the read urls and mixture of agents plugins from OptiLLM.

Yes, that's what OptiLLM does as well, insert the tool calls/plugins and provide an openAI compatible API.
