Description

Fixes [Meta Trac #7790](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7790).

The "All" navigation filter incorrectly redirects users to the Plugin Directory homepage when browsing specific sections, such as /browse/blocks/.

This PR preserves the current browse section while maintaining existing search behavior.

Changes

  • Fix the "All" navigation URL.
  • Add seven regression tests covering browse sections, homepage, search, Community, and Commercial filters.
  • Update the test environment and CI configuration to include the Plugin Directory theme.

Testing

  • Full Plugin Directory suite: 525 tests, 1,701 assertions passed.
  • Regression tests: 7 passed, 9 assertions.
  • PHPCS: passed.
  • PHP syntax validation: passed.
  • HTTP navigation verification: passed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • The “All” link now keeps visitors in their current browse section, including the Blocks section. On the homepage and plugin tag or category archives, it links to the homepage; in search results, it returns to the search page.
    • Community and Commercial links now retain the selected browse section while applying the corresponding filter.

📝 Walkthrough

The “All” section-bar link now uses the current request URL for browse requests and the search URL for search requests. Tests cover browse paths, homepage and search behavior, and Community and Commercial links.

Explanation

The title "Plugin Directory: Preserve browse context in All filter" matches the main change. The raw summary shows the "All" menu link now keeps the browse section (for example /browse/blocks/) instead of redirecting to the homepage, which is the bug described in the objectives (Meta Trac #7790). The title is specific, concise, and names the affected component (the All filter) and the behavior change (preserving browse context). The added regression tests and CI/test-environment updates are supporting changes that the title does not need to cover.
