Reject path segments in plugin and theme names.
The schema accepts any non-empty string for plugin and theme. exportToGithub interpolates these values into ${docroot}/wp-content/plugins/${plugin}. An agent can pass .., or a value that contains /. The tool then exports files from outside the plugin or theme directory, for example wp-config.php or the full docroot, and pushes them to a GitHub PR. The default toPathInRepo also uses the same value. The form is not affected, because it limits these values to the directory listing. Restrict both fields to a single directory name.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Do not treat a failed comparison fetch as an empty baseline when updating a PR.
The catch block ignores all errors. If getFilesFromDirectory fails, the changeset has no deletions, and stale files stay in the PR. Before this change, a person reviewed each export in the form. Now an agent can trigger exports directly, so a silent partial sync is more likely to go unnoticed. Ignore only a 404 response, which means a missing directory. Rethrow all other errors, including 401, so that the auth reset logic still runs.

Co-locate both MCP specs and update test discovery.
The root testing guidance applies to both specs. No scoped exception exists for packages/playground/mcp. Move the unit spec beside github-export.ts and the WebMCP spec beside webmcp.ts.
Update both test configurations after the move. Vitest currently includes only tests/unit, and Playwright uses tests/e2e; without those updates, the relocated tests will not run.

exportToGithubinterpolates these values into${docroot}/wp-content/plugins/${plugin}and the themes path.exportActiveSiteToGithubalso uses them for the defaulttoPathInRepo. Adds
playground_export_to_githubto both MCP and WebMCP using the existing Export to GitHub flow. MCP callers provide an activesiteId; requests run in that site’s browser tab using its GitHub login. Omitted export arguments inherit the tab’sghexport-*launch settings, and explicit arguments override them.New PRs compare against the branch in
repoUrl. The optionalghexport-base-branchparameter, also available asbaseBranch, selects the export branch’s starting point and PR target. This supports comparing againstdist/mainwhile applying only contributor changes tomain. Default behavior and PR-head updates are preserved. Both tools share their schema and metadata, respect the ZIP setting, and return the PR URL and fork status.Validation:
npm exec -- nx run playground-mcp:test:unit— 35 tests passed, including real MCP SDK validation and responses over in-memory transports, WebSocket command dispatch, and rejecting exports after a site becomes inactive.npm exec -- nx run playground-mcp:test:e2e --grep='MCP GitHub export'— three Chromium checks passed across MCP and WebMCP, covering browser launch defaults and authentication errors without creating a live PR.npm exec -- nx run playground-mcp:build:bundle— ESM/CommonJS bundles and TypeScript declarations built successfully. The query API documentation covers
ghexport-base-branch; the MCP README documents the tool, required activesiteId, and browser authentication.Summary by CodeRabbit
