Problem

Prevents pattern saves from failing when the editor sends back the moderator-only _wporg_unlist_reason_detail field.

Excludes this field from REST responses for non-moderators while preserving moderator access and write restrictions.

Fixes #794.

How to test

  1. Log in as a non-moderator pattern author.
  2. Create or edit a pattern, change its description or keywords, and save.
  3. Confirm saving succeeds without a custom-field permission error.
  4. Confirm moderators can still use the unlisting message field.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Unlisted-message details are no longer included in API responses for users without permission to edit other users’ posts, preventing them from viewing or changing the message while saving other pattern metadata.
    • Moderators and other authorized users can still view the message in edit responses.

📝 Walkthrough

The pattern REST response now omits the unlisted-message metadata for users who cannot edit others’ posts. Tests cover member updates without that field and moderator access to the stored message.

The REST response removes the unlisted-message field for users without the required capability. Tests verify that a member can update a pattern without the field and that a moderator’s response includes the stored message.

Seed the stored moderator message in the member response test.

set_up() deletes UNLISTED_DETAIL_META, and the member test does not restore it before requesting the edit response. Its assertion checks only the absent-meta case. Add a stored message so the assertion detects a confidentiality regression.

 		$request = new WP_REST_Request( 'GET', '/wp/v2/' . POST_TYPE . '/' . self::$pattern_id );
