What?
Changes the
wp-phpunit/wp-phpunitconstraint incomposer.jsonfrom^5.4to~5.5.0, and addsyoast/phpunit-polyfills^1.0, which that test library requires.composer.lockmoveswp-phpunit/wp-phpunitfrom5.5.1to5.5.21, the newest5.5.xrelease on Packagist, and addsyoast/phpunit-polyfills1.1.5.Why?
^5.4resolved towp-phpunit/wp-phpunit5.5.1, from September 2020. Pinning~5.5.0keeps the test library on WordPress 5.5's while picking up that release line's later updates, matching the other branches (~5.9.0onwp/5.9,~5.8.0,~5.7.0,~5.6.0).wp-phpunit/wp-phpunit5.5.7and newer requireyoast/phpunit-polyfills. Without it, every leg stops before any test runs:How?
This is the
wp/5.5version of #84974 (wp/5.6), #84942 (wp/5.8) and #84944 (wp/5.7). Regenerated withcomposer update wp-phpunit/wp-phpunit yoast/phpunit-polyfills --with-dependencies(Composer 2.10.3) running on PHP 7.4, so every locked package installs on the PHP 7.4 runner thePHP coding standardsjob uses;composer validatepasses. Resolved on a newer PHP, the lock picksdoctrine/instantiator2.1.0 andmyclabs/deep-copy1.14.0, which need PHP 8 and fail that job's install.yoast/phpunit-polyfillsrequiresphpunit/phpunit, and this branch has nophpunit/phpunitdependency or platform PHP version yet, so Composer pulls in PHPUnit9.6.38and its dependencies here. The test library refuses PHPUnit 8 and newer, and PHP 5.6 and 7.0 can't load PHPUnit 9's classes, so thePHPlegs fail at this PR. #85016, directly above, pins it to PHPUnit 5.7, which PHP 5.6 can load, and sets the platform PHP version.Use of AI Tools
