Part of #82931.
What?
Removes the
nodematrix dimension fromunit-test.yml'sunit-jsjob and fromcreate-block.yml'schecksjob, both of which only ever ran against a single Node.js version (14).actions/setup-nodenow falls back to.nvmrcvianode-version-filein both jobs instead of readingmatrix.node.create-block.yml'sosmatrix dimension is preserved unchanged, since it still provides meaningful coverage. This branch has no
check-latest: trueoption set on anyactions/setup-nodecall, so there was nothing to remove for that part of this change. Why?
A matrix dimension with a single value adds no real test coverage while making the workflow harder to read and re-running
actions/setup-node's version resolution unnecessarily. Sourcing the Node.js version from.nvmrcinstead keeps it defined in exactly one place, so the CI-tested version and the version documented for local development can never drift apart.Use of AI Tools
