What?

Extract shared preset management to packages/global-styles-ui/src/presets/ that contains the CRUD/list/edit currently duplicated between the shadows and font size preset.

No screen consumes it yet in this PR. See the two linked follow-ups, opened in addition to this one, which migrate shadows and font sizes onto it so you can review real usage without inflating this PR

Why?

While working on the spacing presets UI (#61986, my WIP at #72301) I found that we were repeating the exact same things over and over.

Thinking that we are also planning to add the same for border radius (#72609 and maybe more), made sense to extract and abstract this common functionality and avoid having almost identical files all over the place.

It'll make it easier to maintain the code, and quicker to add new presets.

How?

We're sort of replicating what's done with PaletteEdit.

usePresets: CRUD over the array at settings.${path}.${origin}, reading both the live and theme-base values.
<PresetGroup>: the grouped list block.
<PresetEditHeader>: edit-screen header + options menu from a plain items array.
presets/dialogs/{confirm-reset,confirm-delete,rename}-dialog.tsx: unify the dialogs (were almost identical all over the place).
Nothing existing is deleted or rerouted in this PR; it's pure addition.

Testing Instructions

npm run test:unit -- packages/global-styles-ui/src/test/use-presets.spec.js: Tests covering add/remove/rename/reset-to-base.
Not wired to the UI yet, so nothing to see in that front.

It took me a second to figure out that useSettings defaults to merged. It might be worth updating its JSDoc and mentioning the default.

These memos don't really do anything; they just stabilize fallback values. We could use EMPTY_ARRAY and default value assignment on destruction (or something similar)

Do we really need all these methods? Seems excessive, IMO.

I went this way with DRY in mind, given the nature of the change. Most of these methods wrap a slug based
operation. When moving font-sizes and shadows I noticed that they pretty much repeat themselves, and thought that it's quite likely (by how data is structured) that other presets would follow the same path.

That said, there are a few that are so slim that's the same to have the logic on the calling spot, and we can remove for sure (add and removeAll, for example)

But I also understand if we want to go lean now without committing to these, relying on setPresets and once we add more presets we confirm if it's worth it to actually have more of these to avoid repetition.

The update and rename callbacks are basically the same.

I'm leaning towards this solution. We can revisit helpers once UI is more widely used.

I thought it was covered with GlobalStylesUI, but I just noticed it wasn't wired to storybook (I believe since the migration). Fixed that and added a few theme values for fonts/shadows to make them more complete 3609605

Not a practice introduced here, but usually the .spec suffix is used for e2e tests in the project, and any file inside the sub test directory is considered a unit test.

Worth a follow-up.
