WordPress 7.2 Iteration: Media Editor Modal #80389

Overall Goal
Follows on from #73771
The Media Editor Modal shipped with 7.1. The goal is iterate on function and design.
Scope (in order of priority)
- Media Editor: refactor the panel layout #81840
- Media: Tracking the relationship between original images and their cropped derivatives #78077
- Media: track the original attachment id for edited images #81803
- Media editor: restore original image in modal #81805
- Add restore to the model's undo/redo stack. See discussion on Media editor: restore original image in modal #81805
- Step towards extending the image editor: Media editor: Add a session boundary above the cropper #83550

7.2 update
The editor panel refactor (removing the editor skeleton components) was shipped in #81840. The refactor will make future redesigns easier as there's no longer a dependency on editor interface components.
In scope still are:

Tracking and restoring the original attachment has been merged and will feature in 7.2.
I'll create a dev note on #81803
This issue can then be closed, and the follow up items moved to another issue.
