Currently when the dataview hoverstate styles are coming from WP 7.0
they set the color to be #FFF
via
.dataviews-filters__search-widget-listitem:hover, .dataviews-filters__search-widget-listitem[data-active-item], .dataviews-filters__search-widget-listitem:focus {
background-color: var(--wp-admin-theme-color);
color: #fff;
}
from /wp-includes/css/dist/editor/style.css WP 7.0
since there is no color on hover any more we end up with the following state.
This is a recent regression.
Step-by-step reproduction instructions
Load the /wp-includes/css/dist/editor/style.css when running WP 7.0 with the current data view implementation.
Notice that the styles overwrite the color and the dropdown on hover becomes unreadable.

FYI @ntsekouras I think this is worth fixing in DataViews for 7.1.

That was so hard to reproduce 😅 .. I guess your screenshot comes from latest Jetpack(trunk) locally after the DV change here, right?
Can you test the linked PR? It seems mostly correct (at least the main color css var).
