An introduction.

There are a few options to edit navigation but they all show different options. With a lack of consistency between the different methods it becomes tricky figuring out the correct place to edit the Navigation. I have gone through a few different methods below. I also have a video at the end.

  1. Go to the Site Editor.
  2. Select Navigation.
  3. Select one of the menus if more than one.
  4. Notice the placement of the Navigation in the Canvas.

Part 1

A few things here.

  1. It is almost an all white screen.
  2. Navigation it nudged opp in the top left corner.
  3. This is kinda like the isolated mode but not.
  4. A user would probably not know where to go from here. There is no clear guidance or what can be done.
  5. It might seem that the only thing one can do is adjust the placements of the menu items seen in the left sidebar area.

Part 2

Click the menu items in the canvas (seen in the above screenshot) and it leads here.

It goes into isolated mode. On the right side Navigation Menu is open and shows Revisions.
Click a menu item opens information about the specific menu item.

Breadcrumbs - clicking Menu. Going one step up and selecting Menu the sidebar shows the Menu structure in one tab and Advanced in the other tab. Here is the menu structure (List view). Advanced is almost blank.

Part 3

Start over and go to the Site Editor Design area.
Go to Templates.
Select any template.

I opened All Archives as it is the first template.
Clicked the Header (actually tried to click the Navigation)
Noticed that I had selected the Header and not the navigation.
It says Edit original (Edit Header??) and Edit navigation.

I click Edit navigation.
I see a blue outline around Navigation. An Add page popup.
On the right side I see Header - Edit original.

Image

Right sidebar shows the navigation structure/layout (List view).

I click the first sidebar tab: Content.

Image

I click sidebar Navigation with the black background.

It takes me back to the navigation structure/layout. (List view)

Image

I click the third tab (Settings)
I see designs for the Header.

Part 4

First attempt.
Site Editor - Navigation and not able to adjust the Navigation.

Second attempt.
Site Editor - Clicking a template. Clicking Navigation.

Third attempt.

The solution to edit the navigation is to click Edit original.

Image

One might say what does it mean to edit original?

Clicking Edit original.

One sees the isolated mode for the Header - Template part.
Clicking the menu one sees this.

Image

One might say I have seen this before in other places. It is the Header menu structure (List view)

Clicking the next tab (Settings) one sees this.

Next tab (Styles)

This journey shows how difficult it is to figure out where to go to discover how to edit the Navigation.
The only working current solution that I know of is to. Go to the Site Editor -> select a template -> Click the header -> Click Edit original -> Click the menu. Look at the tabs in the sidebar.
