Filter Function

JavaScript Array filter() Method

The filter() method creates a new array with all elements that pass the test implemented by the provided function.

    let  words  = ['spray', 'limit', 'elite', 'exuberant', 'destruction', 'present'];
    const  result  =  words.filter(word  =>  word.length  >  6);
    console.log(result);

expected output: Array ["exuberant", "destruction", "present"]

Another example

Filtering out all small values

The following example uses filter() to create a filtered array that has all elements with values less than 10 removed.

    function  isBigEnough(value) {
        return  value  >=  10;
    }

    var  filtered  = [12, 5, 8, 130, 44].filter(isBigEnough);

filtered is [12, 130, 44]

Object Example

Filters people with more than 32 year out

const people = [{ name: 'John', age: 20 }, { name: 'Mary', age: 35 }, { name: 'Clark', age: 40 }];

const youngPeople = people.filter( ({ age }) => age <= 32 )
