Resolves #8651

Changes

Removed remix-tree-button.

Reason for changes

Scratch now redirects remixtree to the normal remixes page, so this extension is now useless. :(

Tests

Tested on Firefox 144

Scratch now redirects remixtree to the normal remixes page.

A few other things need to be removed as well:

  • addons-l10n/en/remix-tree-button.json
  • addons/scratchr2/remixtree.css and the reference to it in addons/scratchr2/addon.json
  • the reference to .remixtree-button in addons/scratch3to2/project.css

I don't know, but maybe we could make our own.

@ampelectrecuted You still need to delete the addons/scratchr2/remixtree.css file. There's also a line in addons/scratch3to2/project.css that mentions .remixtree-button - it should be removed.

I don't know, but maybe we could make our own.

The endpoint that returned the raw data for the remix tree (/projects/<id>/remixtree/bare/) has also been removed. This means we'd need to use the API, which unfortunately can't sort projects by loves like the remix tree did.

They've now rejected the suggestion (the rejection post didn't really include a reason). I suspect it was due to inappropriate projects showing on the remixtree only (that's what seemed to be happening recently), but I honestly don't see why the problem couldn't have been fixed in this case.

They filtered remixtree links by filtering "/remixtree" and made them redirect to the remixes page too

It seems to be available again - but I don't think we can rely on it continuing to work.

Well, now /remixtree does not redirect but displays the same content as /remixes.

Now that there are only up 4 buttons shown at a time the changes from #8466 are no longer necessary unless another addon adds a button there in the future.

why did they remove remix tree :c

I don't know, but maybe we could make our own.

People have made recreations of the remixtree, so maybe one of those could be used with the permission from the creator?

https://retree.quuq.dev/ (I asked the creator of this one if they could use it for this extension)

Well, now /remixtree does not redirect but displays the same content as /remixes.

Yeah that was because there was a bug where the user called that would redirect to remixes LOL

So what should I do?
It looks like this PR has already been merged. Should I make something that re-adds the button?
