Who am I? (short)

Iโ€™m a computational biologist at TOBY, where profile VOCs in urine with MS and AI to enable early detection, diagnostics, and therapeutic discovery for complex diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's. I enjoy working within the intersection of science, engineering, data, and technology - wearing many hats, such as data scientist, AI engineer, Head of Technology, founder, and Chief Technology Officer. In sum, I enjoy building high-impact AI/ML-powered solutions, from researching new fundamental ways of doing things, to GTM and building production-grade systems.

Who am I? (longer)

I am a biomedical researcher who developed AI/ML approaches for cancer drug discovery, specifically focusing on developing algorithms to identify biomarkers and drug candidates within targeted cellular populations. During my training, I've won NIH/DOE grants and published original AI and biomedical research in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Communications and Cancer Metabolism. More importantly, I worked on bridging research, data, and software to build tools that unlock highly impactful insights into health.

Today, I work at TOBY, working on building AI systems that would help early detection of complex diseases using non-invasive modalities like urine sampling. I am a former founder of Torchstack, an AI Studio that helps businesses build and deploy AI products from proof of concept to production. We are an AWS partner and have established partnerships with companies across several verticals, including real estate, supply chain and logistics, biotechnology, security, and AI. Previously, I led technology initiatives at Miraei, building data pipelines and agile workflows to develop real-time, intelligent systems that support biopharma stakeholders. I was also co-founder and CTO of Couro, where we utilized AI and computer vision to help runners stay injury-free and train more effectively. My contributions enabled us to participate in the UC LAUNCH Accelerator Program, AWS Startup programs, and the NVIDIA Inception Accelerator Program.

  • Developing bioinformatics pipelines (gene set enrichment analysis, protein expression network graphs, etc) for drug discovery ๐Ÿ’Š
  • Training and developing Vision-Language Models for chart reasoning and understanding ๐Ÿ“ˆ
  • Pose estimation applications for improving athletic performance ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ
