There will be a total refactoring of the SEB Windows Configuration Tool, and after that it will contain all settings for Win/Mac/iOS. It is not feasible with our developer resources to do this in the current outdated code base. SEB Server contains all settings for all platforms (or at least we're constantly adding all new platform-specific settings). For larger, professional exam providers we expect they test their exams on all supported platforms, so they should own at least one Mac device. I understand this may not be the case for single teachers/small organizations. |

I have a student who has a MacBook and I made the .seb file on Windows, as that is my OS.
For hours we was trying to get her MacBook to allow her webcam and microphone to join the Teams call through the safe exam browser (I provided the link on the Moodle Quiz), but it kept denying permissions.
After scouring the web, I found that there is an option I can enable which is allow video (webcam) and microphone in the .seb config but I could not find it. The way I resolved it was to use someone else's MacBook and create the .seb config option on there, as the "enable video and microphone" options can only be found in the SEB Configuration tool for Mac. This then finally allowed her to turn her webcam and mic on through Teams.
What is strange is that there are options on the Windows SEB configuration tool for people who are sitting the exam on MacOS, but the allow microphone and webcam options cannot be found. Is there a reason on why that setting can not be found on the Windows version and only on the Mac version or am I just mistaken and I can't see it?
In the future, if I want to set this up, how can I allow webcam and microphone permissions without switching over to MacOS? I don't own a Mac, I am only temporarily borrowing it.
