Updating PowerShell Core should be simpler #8663

So we have another update of PowerShell core. Excellent that - but to do the update I need to go to GitHub. This is fine but is more work than it should be for most IT Pros. In my case, I just want the latest version on my workstation. While GitHub is a wonderful place, for a lot of more traditional IT Pros who are not into DevOps - it's overhead to what should be a simple process.

Today, we just use Update-Help to get the latest help content. It just works. So can we get an Update-PowerShell that just works?

And how about an installation mode for updates that does not destroy Taskbar pinned shortcuts?
