Description

Is BuddyPress used on wordpress.org?

How would that fill some of the needs listed in other issues? (Message members, members to members, managers to organizers, user tagging, etc, see issues #5 and #10 )

More? please add in the comments

BuddyPress is now installed on the demo.gatherpress.org at the network level.
Pages such as members and activity are on the main site.

I log here some needs, but might be later listed in a potential upcoming "GatherPress-BuddyPress integration" addon.

We need to have a BuddyPress activity recorded when someone:

    • publishes an event
    • edits an event
    • deletes an event
    • clicks RSVP attend
    • clicks RSVP do not attend
    • hosts an event (need to be added to the plugin)
    • speaks at an event (need to be added to the plugin)

For the 2 last above, see this Add fields for event host(s) and even speaker(s) #872

Yes. BuddyPress is used on profiles.wordpress.org.

No, BuddyPress is not required for GP.

If you need to add profile entries, WordPress.org has a helper for this:
    https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress.org/blob/539430dab17c30bb5a639afe866891203589b673/wordpress.org/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/pub/profile-helpers.php#L147-L167

This isn't needed for any MVP.

(Message members, members to members, managers to organizers, user tagging, etc

None of that needs BP. None of that should use BP.
