Standalone Operation

Are you running your mainboard as a standalone device. Is standalone mode enabled in the BIOS?

  • Yes
  • No

Describe the bug

Fedora Linux 43 (COSMIC) x86_64
Linux 6.17.10

I updated the bios using fwupdmgr as explained on
https://knowledgebase.frame.work/en_us/framework-desktop-bios-and-driver-releases-amd-ryzen-ai-max-300-series-BJHcn1Y4gg

Now booting takes a loooong time. (and my keyboard no longer works wirelessly)

Steps To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Update to latest bios using fwupdmgr
  2. Boot system
  3. Select first entry in grub
  4. Wait a long time (2+ minutes, normally 5 seconds)
  5. System boots
  6. Login screen appears

Expected behavior

Startup is fast as with 3.03

Additional context

Found somebody reporting the same issue on the announcement community post:
https://community.frame.work/t/framework-desktop-ryzen-ai-max-300-bios-3-04-release-stable/78348/10

dmesg shows a boot of 6 seconds so it must be something grub?

My keyboard is also broken but created a different issue for that, see #139
