Ledger goes from 81 to 83 entries: adds ch01-va01 and ch02-va01 (kind B, removed,
0 minutes before and after -- those sections were optional and ungraded and were
never priced into the Pass 1 effort table). Moves ch01-ex01 and ch02-ex02 from
kept to edited, each noting its kind-C removal. No IDs renumbered.

AUDIT.md handoff records the marker counts against the Step 4 targets, why both
chapters got zero code blanks, and the pattern chapters 3-8 should conform to.

Two things need a ruling before the next batch:

1. chap01 line 50 mentions virtual assistants in chapter-body prose as a reason
the vocabulary matters. Pass 1's A/B/C sweep did not classify it and it is not
any of the three kinds, so it was left in place. The same judgment recurs in
chap00's Preface. One ruling should cover all of them.

2. Notebook hygiene (CLAUDE.md AllenDowney#5) conflicts with small diffs against upstream
(AllenDowney#2). Upstream ships 1353 execution counts across chapters/; running nbstripout
over the book is the whole-file reflow AllenDowney#2 forbids. This pass introduced no
outputs and changed no execution count instead. Full reasoning in AUDIT.md.

Work stops here for the register and marker-density review, per the pass file's
order of work.
