ACG’s GI Jeopardy Competition

This exciting program is designed as a friendly competition among GI training programs across North America. The competition consists of two stages, an online preliminary round where all GI programs are invited to compete and a final round where two person teams from the top five scoring programs will compete in front of a live audience at the ACG Postgraduate Course. Travel expenses will be covered by ACG for the five finalist teams.

Preliminary Round Via On‐Line Test – Starts July 6, 2026
Training Program Directors and Coordinators will be provided with a unique password. The program will use that password to log into the system. The test will consist of 50 questions on a variety of GI diseases and organs. This preliminary round is designed as a group session. While there is no limit to the number of trainees who may participate in this group answering the on‐line questions. Two rules apply: (1) only fellows‐in‐training may participate, and (2) each training program’s group will be permitted to take the test only once. A composite score will be calculated for each training program, and finalists selected, based on the number of correct responses and additionally factoring in the completion time. Programs will have the opportunity to complete part of the test and come back to do the rest without a time penalty. However, once a question appears on screen, the clock begins to run.

Deadline for completion of the preliminary round is August 10, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Final Round at ACG Meeting, October 10, 2026
The five highest scoring training programs from the on‐line preliminary round will be invited to send teams of two trainees each to compete in the final round at the ACG 2026 Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 10, 2026. All participants will be invited to attend the entire ACG Postgraduate Course. The final competition will consist of two rounds of questions before a live audience. In the first round, all five teams will compete against one another. Round two will consist of the three top scoring teams of that round. Each member of the team that wins the competition will be awarded a $1,000 travel grant toward airfare, hotel and ground transportation for the 2026 ACG Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course in San Antonio, Texas, plus a trophy for the program.
