Tatiana Tarasova criticized the IOC for removing pair skating from the 2028 Youth Olympics, calling it an insult to Russian athletes and coaches. Here’s a translation of her comments.
“The Russian and Soviet pair skating tradition has been among the best in the world for many decades. We have led, developed, and proposed new directions for world pair skating, winning at the Olympic Games, World Championships, and European Championships.
I do not understand these people and the organization responsible for sport, which has forgotten about this and did not include Russian athletes in the Olympic Games.
This is an insult to our country, our coaches, and our children. They can do the same with any Olympic Games. They have no rules that allow them to do this, but they make the rules for themselves. I hate this unprofessional approach,” Tarasova said.
