Nikita Katsalapov, bronze medalist in the Olympic figure skating team event at Beijing 2022, told “Sport Express” that he has stopped keeping track of the fate of the medals.

Katsalapov told that Russian figure skaters still have not received their bronze medals for the team event at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Initially, the Russian team won the team event, but after Kamila Valieva’s disqualification and the annulment of her results, the skaters were awarded bronze.

“Have the medals been given out? Not yet. Honestly, I don’t even know what’s going on anymore. I’m working, doing my own thing. I just stopped being interested in it,” Katsalapov said.

On October 30, the Swiss Federal Court rejected a petition to review the CAS decision in the case of Kamila Valieva’s anti-doping violation. On January 29, 2024, CAS announced a four-year disqualification for Valieva for violating anti-doping rules, annulling her results from December 25, 2021. The results of the Olympic figure skating team event in Beijing were also revised—the Russian team, which included Valieva, moved from first to third place, and the gold medals went to the American skaters.

At the Paris Summer Olympics, only the gold (USA) and silver (Japan) medals were awarded.
