Elizaveta Tuktamysheva shares her gratitude and insights from her first training camp in the United States, where she gained valuable new perspectives on skating technique. Here’s a translation of her comments.
“This training camp gave me so much. I don’t even know how many more words of gratitude I can say to Rafael Arutyunyan because he opened my eyes to figure skating techniques, building on what I learned from Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin.
Working with both of them has given me a wealth of knowledge, and it was incredibly exciting to be at this camp with Rafael. What he explained to me – that was the first time I’d ever heard such things,” Tuktamysheva said.
She also praised the warm reception she received in the U.S.:
“The environment there is wonderful. There are many Russian specialists working at the rink and Russian-speaking skaters training there, so I felt very comfortable.”
This training camp left a lasting impression on Tuktamysheva as it marked her first trip to America, offering her a mix of sport and leisure:
“This is the first time I’ve been to America, and not only did I get to train at the rink, but I also saw many beautiful places. We rented a car and managed to combine work with pleasure,” she added.
