The premiere of the ice show “Assol” took place in Saint Petersburg, marking a significant milestone for Alina Zagitova and Evgenia Medvedeva. Both skaters shared their thoughts on the production and the collaborative effort behind this ambitious project. Here’s a translation of their comments.
“I’m very pleased with the work we’ve done – each program carried deep meaning. I hope everyone was able to feel the atmosphere of ‘Scarlet Sails.’ I’m so happy that nearly everything we envisioned came to life. Right now, emotions are settling a bit, but we’ll continue rehearsing even after the premiere. We’re staying focused and keeping the momentum going,” Zagitova shared.
“I’m glad we now have the opportunity to collaborate on joint projects – it’s always a great experience. The premiere turned out beautifully; congratulations, Alina, you’ve done an amazing job,” Medvedeva said, as quoted by Sport24.
Both skaters addressed the significance of working together despite their competitive history:

When asked about their roles as “boss” and “subordinate,” the skaters dismissed the notion:
Zagitova: “We don’t operate like that – it’s not how we work!”
Medvedeva: “You’ve already said the key words for your headlines, so your job is done (laughs). We worked as colleagues. I could see when Alina was struggling and stepped in to help. Let’s refer to us as colleagues.”
Medvedeva also revealed that her own show, featuring Zagitova, is scheduled for September 13.
