Kindle Fire losing power.

My Kindle Fire 8 is losing power much quicker than itvwas. It also takes several hours to recharge. Anyone have any answers why that should be?

    Mine is doing that as well, it doesn't last very long at all now.

    Mine doesnt do that but it just freezes a lot and needs restarting to get it moving.

    Anyway, I have decided to get a different tablet. I have ordered a Samsung the same size as the Kindle.

    Batteries fail after a time, happens with all batteries, they take longer to charge and discharge faster.

    You can buy a new battery and tools to fit it for about £15 on ebay (videos on youtube) but a shop would charge a lot more and its more than likely just as cheap to buy a new one.

    I've just changed the battery in my better half's Kindle Paper white -- it wasn't holding charge .
    Piece of cake !
    I took it apart to make sure we ordered the correct replacement battery using a credit card to remove the front trim to access the screws.
    The new battery arrived complete with a set of "tools" - not needed but useful for other "tear downs" in the future.
    Youtube is your friend -- very helpful videos as there are many variations of the Kindle.

    Mine is weird. The battery will work as normal from 100% down to 15%-10%, but then it suddenly drains the rest in like 1 minute. Definitely something wrong with it, but it's weird because it's been going on for like a year now and it's not gotten any worse. Surely if it was a battery problem, the problem would only get worse, but there has been no sign of that.
