    Good morning everyone.

Raining heavily and very windy this morning, still very mild for December. Have a lovely day.

*An Executive Pub's Manager's job is never done. Puts on Santa hat and gets to work.*

*Organises underling rota, hires professional cleaners, orders designer flowers for all Pub tables, orders breakfast, with all the trimmings, for self and Mr Chin.*

Good morning all, four days til the Solstice! 😊 A week til Christmas. 🎅

    *Opens pub.*

I'll be out at the crack of dawn to beat the crowds in Aldi. I can be in and out by 8.30am!

    Hello

There's no need to rush your trip to Aldi, take your time, please.

You have made yourself surplus to the Pub's requirements, so sling your hook as you are sacked.

'grabs Eddy the Crook by the scruff if the neck & kicks him outside into the garden shed' you can stay there you wee scrote until you stop with your mad delusions! 😡😡

Morning SR, I see you've dealt with the chancer! Good. I have returned, having rinsed Aldi of 8p vegetables and avoided other people. RESULT. It pays to go in two minutes after they open!

    Morning everyone

Morning Sam, not very festive out today, wind, rain, dark.... but it is 10 degrees in Kent so that's a bonus.

We are now entering the deadliest pre-Christmas period. The period when you are labouring under the delusion that you sent off all your cards days ago.

And then an unexpected Christmas card arrives!

Oh god, I mustn't let them feel I'm ignoring them!
Oh god, I've used all the cards!
Oh god, I haven't got got a stamp!

And finally. Oh god, it will never get there in time! :D

It turns out I forgot two sets of far flung rellies. Oh well. They'll probably think I've carked it.

    Morning Eddy.

I've been up for ages. I was in the Pubs draconian toilets, frozen to the toilet seat. I had to wait for it to thaw out before i could escape my icy hell.

Don't sing if you want to live long
They have no use for your song
    You're dead, you're dead, you're dead
You're dead and out of this world

Er, the names at the bottom all appear to be Finnish. Were there any Finnish Vikings? Who knows? I believe that there were Finnish pirates in the Baltic in the Middle Ages. :)

Amorphis are Finnish, and traditionally the Finns had strong trade links and cultural links with the true Vikings of Scandinavia. There is some evidence of Finnic raiders joining Viking bands to go east for plunder. The band perform what is known as Viking metal, a branch [one of many) of the genre, along with many Scandinavian and Germanic bands.

Interestingly, but not surprisingly considering that we were invaded by them, English school history deals mainly with the Danish and Norwegian Vikings. The Swedish Vikings used the large east European rivers, with the occasional portage, to move east. They established Kievan Rus, the first Russian state, and traded with the Byzantines in Constantinople.
