Kick Off aired between 7-10.20pm on talkSPORT, while talkSPORT 2's live coverage from St James' Park went out between 7.30-10.20pm. Both members of both of the network's commentary teams previewed their ties during the primary channel's half hour of build-up, with Adrian Durham then hosting a further 45 minutes of build-up to the later kick-off on talkSPORT 2 once he'd handed over into first half commentary from the Etihad Stadium on talkSPORT.
Durham anchored the half-time segments on both talkSPORT stations, then when Manchester City v Brentford had finished, Adrian took us through about five minutes of post-match reaction to that game plus updates on the UEFA Women's Champions League and PDC World Championship before he handed talkSPORT into a simulcast of talkSPORT 2's second half commentary on Newcastle United v Fulham at 9.30pm with 32 minutes of that tie remaining. Following the final whistle at St James' Park, Durham chaired five minutes of reaction with Micky Gray across both talkSPORT stations before he closed the night's coverage and ended the simulcast.
talkSPORT carried news of the League Cup Semi-Final Draw during The Sports Bar with Jason Cundy and Jermaine Pennant. The talkSPORT network didn't have a reporter covering the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final between Paris Saint-Germain and Flamengo.
