A moment like this - the first time I heard it I thought it was a joke.
The weird thing about lad baby is how little you heard them. I only found out they did a version of do they know it's Christmas the year after it was released.

Most of the X Factor ones are pretty dire, but I reserve a special place in music hell for Alexandra Burke's overblown yet empty version of Hallelujah which rips the entire soul out of the song.

All of LadBaby's "efforts" bar We Built This City which is a 2 out of 10 rather than a zero.

Mistletoe & Wine. I genuinely can't listen to it.

The godawful Flying Pickets cover of Only You. A travesty how this made #1 and the original did not.

If I had to choose just one though it would definitely be Hallelujah.

I always thought "you don't care for music do you?" Could be asked to Simon cowell

This thread has inspired me to head to YouTube and watch some, id forgotten about the horror that was Leon Jackson's When You Beleive, so bad I think he refuses to allow it on streaming.

To this day im convinced Dannii ringing her sister up for a duet with him got him the win there.

I didn't watch x factor so never really heard him "singing" anything else, but based on when you believe, he cannot sing.

I would say Millennium Prayer by Cliff Richard, but I’m not sure it was no.1 at Christmas.

I really dislike any of the Paul McCartney and Cliff Richard songs associated with Christmas.

He was ok (and only just ok) at the big band swing stuff, but a very poor winner of a poor series. It was a lull after the unexpected sucess of Leona Lewis a year before then petrol was poured on the XFactor a year later with JLS, Alexandra Burke (and ft Beyonce)

Not a number 1 (thank the lord) but a near miss. The Pop Idol 2 cast singing Merry Xmas War Is Over when you guessed it war in Iraq wasn't over. Thank you Simon Cowell for this tasteful masterpiece

It's amazing how much terrible music came out of x factor. Not even mediocre, but absolutely terrible.

It's sad that all the massive resources of the music industry couldent create some good music, lots of covers for the winners songs. Girls Aloud dropping an absolute banger with Sound Of The Underground proved it could be done (yes yes I know it was technically a cover too)

I do think Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, JLS, One Direction, Little Mix and James Arthur were good pop artists though, but their best material is after their winners singles or when free from Syco's clutches.

No it wasn’t, 1999 Christmas number 1 was Westlife I Have A Dream/Seasons in the Sun

Worst Christmas number 1 for me has to be anything Lad Baby

I find James Arthur's voice quite unpleasant. Girls aloud were by far the best act to come from a talent show.
Even when they went with an original song - that's my goal- it was a load of shit.

I realise James Arthurs voice is marmite but it was something different for the show and distinctive.

I actually like That's My Goal too, its the gold standard of big talent show winning song with a key change (runs and hides) :)

I think it depends how old you were when Blobby came out. I was only about ten at the time and only have happy memories of dancing to Mr Blobby with my friends.

Unpopular opinion, but I really like Alexandra Burke's version. It is actually the only version of the song I can listen to, as I find the other versions dull and whiney (though do like First Aid Kit's version). I suppose people like different things. I have always just listened to what I like and not cared if others thought my taste was bad.

LadBaby - Do They Know It's Christmas

    Utterly pointless. Utterly redundant.
