Any reason for the 8.15pm time, Chelsea game kicked off at 8pm yesterday.

Presumably Sky wanted a 45 minute gap between games.

It makes sense, because it maximises the amount people can watch (three halves across both games) without the kick-off times being stupid in either direction

Constant mentions of the "typical Manchester rain" on the one hand but absolutely no mention of the rain in Newcastle where it's absolutely peeing down.

Do ITV normally give their Carabao Cup live matches 45 minutes of build-up or have they got something specific to this Newcastle v Fulham match they need the time for?

Even the off-air time of 10.40pm seems a little generous.

    When's the draw?

Did they use the studio for HT at the City game?

So they are basically constantly on air one way or another?

No the commentators did the half time at City. And it included this corker from Hinchcliffe:

"City fans love a bit of Cherki at Christmas time" 😂

    Love it!

Makes sense, the coverage is all a bit dry in the studio

    Shay Given is pretty dull

Sky using the studio for 5 consecutive days now is rather disappointing.

That is also the back page headline in tomorrow's Daily Star - on Back Pages Tonight on sky sports news , they said it was a great headline by them.

As usual for a Saturday, Peter Drury is with NBC and doing Spurs V Liverpool so it's likely that Rob Hawthorne gets that big six clash for Sky. Jon Champion is actually stateside presenting this weekend.

BORING OBSERVATION: They had the team names on the scoreline on Man City vs Brentford, but not on Newcastle vs Fulham.

Some info about the Sky team this weekend.

    https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/who-are-the-commentators-on-sky-sports

Neville once again doing two commentaries this weekend according to this whilst the MNF guest is not confirmed yet. Also a Christmas treat with Paul Merson showing up on the Sunday!

Normally in the last MNF before Christmas Gary Neville & Jamie Carragher normally discuss start of season predictions and do updated predictions, I'd be surprised if Gary Neville has no involvement on MNF. It is the last MNF before mid-January

I’m not sure that’s a thing is it?
Thierry Henry did the equivalent last year. And the previous two years saw no pre-Xmas MNFs at all in December, whilst the 2021 show was on 6th.

Perhaps it was the case in 2020 when they both did Chelsea v West Ham on 21st Dec, I can’t remember, but circumstances were a bit tricky then!
