August 17 1974 YTV were covering Golf for World Of Sport as they were for the first 3 days but there was racing from Ripon on World Of Sport on that day so Thames covered the Racing at Ripon for World Of Sport given that Thames were able to send their OB units to Ripon as they were usually unlikely to be used at weekends as Tyne Tees were not available as they were covering Newcastle v Coventry and this meant that ATV's Stoke v Leeds was covered on Yorkshire and ATV also covered racing at Wolverhampton on World Of Sport
That Arsenal match was on Danny Baker's Right Hammerings video, I remember Dan pointing out how furious Brian Kidd was at the disallowed goals - "he must really hate West Ham!"

I remember that Ipswich game,think Uniteds team was weakened by injuries which may partially explain the loss.They were second or third in the table if I remember correctly. Interesting fact that Bailey saved three penalties, so the scoreline could have been 9-0. United got revenge on them 15 years later with a 9-0 drubbing at Old Trafford.
My choice would have been for Kidd’s goal at Norwich. When I look back to some of the goals that won goal of the season in those days ( including those on MOTD), they probably would not even have made the short list for goal of the week most weeks nowadays. The game has indeed moved on, and they could only choose from games where the cameras were there, of course.

Never mind the Golden Goals - the only contender is that second Chelsea own goal. The funniest thing I've seen in ages - a striker would have been proud of that finish!
Good episode that. It was funny for me hearing Don Masson being asked about the QPR players berating one another., he was notorious for that at Notts, I think he would say himself that he was often hated by teammates, but he was easily our best player and I'm sure he did find it frustrating at times. Around 2002ish he was an on-pitch guest when we were home to QPR and he got a terrific reception from the visiting fans. Sad they couldn't secure the title to add to the list of unfashionable sides that won it in the 60s and 70s.
