Getting a glimpse of the Christmas special now, complete with Luba and her version of "It's the Most Wonderful TIme of the Year". Don't quit the day job, Luba. We got a very quick look at the training/rehearsals of the couples plus an appearance by Blue. There will be a group dance based around a 1930's style cocktail party. This sounds right to me, because I do my best dancing after cocktails. Or so I believe.

Really interesting about how much of them use ginger to help with their voice. I remember an opera singer talking about going for a rehearsal on the London tube and feeling the telltale tickle in the throat signalling virus / cold. She detoured and went to a chemist and bought vitamin c tablets not realising they were the effervescent ones and she started chewing one … all became a bit messy and disturbing to onlookers 😆

The Strictly Singers are here. Tommy, Andrea & Hayley are on the sofa. Tommy told how he got a call to sing at a pilot of a show based on the old "Come Dancing" so he's been here from the begining. Hayley joined in 2007 and she says this is the perfect gig for her. It's a bit of every style of music. Andrea said she takes a lot of vitamins and eats a lot of ginger during the season. They spoke of the new addition to the group, Natalie, and they're thrilled to have her with the group. There was a video of the girls in an elevator singing with Anton, Motsi & JoHighness (can't let that go) appearing in cameos.
There were viewers questions and I'm not going into all of them here. Tommy was thrilled to sing "YNWA" for Chris & Diane as he's a Scouser. They all get butterflies just before the show, don't even talk to each other. They rehearse for days so it feels natural on the day. If they could sing with any band, Tommy took the Beatles, Hayley took Led Zeppelin or Crosby Stills Nash and Young (there's an odd combo) and Andrea said Beyonce.
They sung us out with a gorgeous acapella version of Winter Wonderland.

Is Nikita a bit in love with Amber?! He is so full of gushing admiration and on about how beautiful she looks. Maybe it’s just me … I don’t want to be accused of shipping, as I’m not. Just curious.

Andrea & Nikita are the final couple for the evening. Amber has a lovely Christmas red dress which really suits her colouring. She teared up at the idea of being a Strictly finalist and luckily Nikita was there with the Strictly tissue box. Nikita said he's just there to facilitate and Amber is doing the work, so he's grateful to be here and in the presence of greatness. He's just here to hold the tissues. Amber had Craig on her side Saturday and that meant something to Amber because when she watches the show she agrees more with Craig. They spoke about holding the pose at the end of their dance and how Nikita took a minute to get out of the zone.
Nikita said in the Couples Choice he was watching her flying down to the dance floor at the beginning and it was the best thing in the world to see. He felt after the week she's had she deserved that perfect dance. Amber is the first celeb to get a "hat trick" of 40's. She was floored, hadn't realized that.
They have chosen to do their jive on Saturday. It was full of energy & happiness and Nikita said it was a dance that really suited Amber. She's dealing with the idea of 3 dances as it's her last week of the show and she wants to cherish every single moment. Nikita said they're really tired but they aren't stopping. Amber was very teary, feeling sad that it's almost over and she'll miss it.
The judges have chosen their paso for the night. Won't take long for Nikita to get into that costume! They got two 10's so she's looking forward to another chance to get a perfect score for it.
Nikita said the show dance will celebrate Amber and showing what she can do. There will be tricks and lifts and lots of celebrations.
Tomorrow is Janette's turn with stats man OJ, the friends of the finalists making their last pitches to get votes for their friends and Karen & Carlos. See you tomorrow.
