To be fair, the new sound is very fresh and crisp - classic Global style.

I guess that the talkie features, Best Of Riviera features and the legendary Blevins Franks reports have all bitten the dust.

Most of the things that generated revenue - yachts, property, jobs - seem to have been dropped. Just a few sponsors and the ad breaks remain.

You would assume anything that generated revenue would be kept, they would remove anything that doesn't make money

The Monaco DAB mux has space for a Capital Monaco station
    https://wohnort.org/dab/monaco.html?PageSpeed=off
For a different target audience alongside a rebranded Heart Monaco, taking advantage of Monaco's relaxed broadcasting rules, if Global decide on this path?

Given that Monaco has the highest median age in the world I would have thought that If Global were to add another station it would more likely be Smooth.

Monaco having 4 DAB muxes is OTT surely - but I suppose they always maximise money making opportunities there!

I was wondering about that. More than 40 stations for a population of less than 40,000 people excluding overspill.

Do they make it as far as Nice?

The transmitter is high up above the principality on Mont Agel, and covers a fair chunk of the coast -

Thanks for that. Makes more sense seeing that map.

Yes both FM and DAB are both good at Nice Airport for Riviera

I think Global are missing a trick not having a station with this music mix in the UK.

Shame there's no way to see what they've been playing!

Wouldn't it be funny if Global acquired NRJ group for a Capital affiliate. It would of course not be an English station, but it ticks the boxes for it to be a Capital affiliate.

There was a rumour a while back Bauer was interested in NRJ, they have a franchise in Sweden.

If they go with a Heart playlist with "auditorium music tested" (probably now online tests?) tracks aimed at a target audience, they could increase listening (and as revenue) amongst the ex pats?

I’d say it’s likely Ant Payne is making a move to either heart in the near future or Riviera Breakfast is going to be delivered out of London
