I also don't understand how Carla has been somehow seconded into Weathy police force. And as usual, it seems that any Tom Dick or Harry can just rock up to the hospital and pop into a patients room. Carla doesn't even know Costello!

I'm also sick of Carla swooping in and out, dumping her massive bunch of keys and phone on the table then minutes later scraping them all back up and flouncing off again.

And what about Betsy whingeing about the washing machine making her clothes smelly! She showed no concern for Carla and the fact that she felt driven out of her own house by Badly Drawn Becky! What's wrong with her other mummies sorting the washing machine issue out?

Neither do I. Do Corrie really expect us to believe this would really happen!

Been saying this for a while. It seems this is on rinse and repeat. And she certainly does swoop and then sweep out of the room.

What a bl00dy pain the backside Betsy is.

Don't worry when she outgrown her teen veceloraptor phase

She pays no attention to what is happening. She seems to think her mums will form a throuple with Carla and they will all live happily ever after in Teddy Bear Wood.

Yes she really is a childish ditzy blonde when at home with her 3 mummies 🙄
What a contrast to the feisty law breaking Betsy of old!

Don't worry, when she's outgrown her feisty, teen velociraptor phase, she'll be head of design at the factory and partnered with Dylan or Brody.

I've got to say I thought that was a good bit of acting. Very scary how things can escalate, Unusual for me, I didn't look at my phone once until it finished.

Absolutely agree. I really enjoyed that tonight. Well done both actors, but Todd was great.

The poor camera shots did nothing for me. Low resolution, black and white, grainy, pointing in the wrong direction etc etc.

I don't know what they were trying to achieve, but it just didn't work and added nothing to the story.

I thought it was well done. Looking from different angles.

Blanche Hunt: Good looks are a curse, Deirdre. You and Kenneth should count yourselves lucky. = Brilliant!!! @SeagullNipple thankyou for the link.

From back in the day when the writers could write. Blanche was a battle axe, but she was a witty one. My favourite quip from her was about Roy and Haley, "She's a man and he's a looney". They'd never get away with a line like that these days.

I still call aadi and asha, asda and aldi that's when you know the writing was good. Now if I watch any of the soaps iv forgotten what they said 10 minutes after it was on.

I’m sure the Asda & Aldi nicknames were said on DS first before they were spoke on Corrie itself

they were, we should copyright our nicknames like immaculate joseph, raisin awareness, treeo and badly drawn becki

i like theogre, good play on words there

Don't forget Git. Raisin awareness is my favourite, followed by Treeo. They are all good though and make a fun addition to the comments.

i just referenced my own ones.

immaculate joseph came from the previous boy who played him who for some odd reason was always dressed like a page boy at a society wedding not a pre-schooler returning home from nursery

i thought it added a more claustrophobic feel to the scenes.

also completely fecked up the continuity of the shop flat ever having space for two bedrooms.

and why do they always show dash cams recording in stationery vehicles, they dont record 24/7 do they?

The Todd actor Gareth Pierce was on This Morning today amongst the things he said was that " the set builders put a ceiling in the flat which is something that they don't usually do and with James the Theo actor being so tall it added to the atmosphere ", it certainly did imo.

Credit where credit's due. I thought both Todd and Theo were excellent tonight. I've said this before, there are plenty of decent actors in Corrie, it's the scripts and storylines that hold them back. The producers tried something new tonight and it mainly worked pretty well.

The only downside I have is that I don't like the way this story is heading, but that's a separate issue.

I found myself wondering why Todd didn't tell Kit the truth and point him in the direction of the photo frame cameras for proof.

Tonight's ep was good. The shots were sometimes annoying though. The content was shocking and probably not suitable for before the watershed and was this really a SL for Corrie? It's not meant to be so violent and gloomy.

On a lighter note, Sarah was doing what she's always doing - drinking wine.

So did I. It's getting beyond annoying. But the end of this SL must be approaching.

Todd is always good. But Theo has been good and really believable in these latest scenes.

We all thought the same thing about Belle's abuse off Emmerdale at about five different points and it always continued on longer.

With the state of the flat and the fighting it's a miracle the photos recording it all stayed in position.
Why was Todd so coy? The cameras would have recorded what really happened, but then again, maybe if the copper interviewing him wasn't a near neighbour he may have been more likely to tell him more his private business.

I don't watch Emmerdale but that doesn't sound very encouraging. Corrie needs something uplifting for Christmas. So, I hope this SL and other SLs don't make for miserable viewing on Christmas Day. It's not looking good though.

    That is true.

Are the police allowed to be involved in friends/neighbours cases?

No, they wouldn’t. Conflict of interest

Ten minutes in and I was thinking well, this is a load of crap, but then I got drawn in and it was actually a pretty good episode.

I guess it was an experiment to not use conventional filming for the entire episode, and whilst it was quite effective, I hope they don't make a habit of it.

The annoying thing was Todd not telling Kit about the abuse, even though he had it all on film, and him and Theo ending up back at the flat for it all to drag on even further.

And above all, why doesn't Todd go back to Eileen's? Surely he's not just going to continue to put up with Theo's behaviour?

There are complex dynamics at play here between Todd and Theo: these include trauma bonding; fear; learned helplessness; cognitive dissonance; complete loss of esteem, confidence and identity; isolation; shame; self blame; financial control; fear of stigma and judgment.

Gaslighting stands as one of the abuser’s most destructive weapons, steadily eroding the victim’s grip on reality. Manipulative tactics include rewriting shared memories and experiences, dismissing legitimate feelings and worries, shifting blame for abusive actions, cutting off support networks so victims have nobody to confirm their worries or experiences with. The cycle of abuse cycle will also include spats of “love bombing” – periods of intense affection and attention, warmth and kindness – followed by blanket silence or ‘stonewalling’. This emotional warfare steadily chips away at and erodes any ability for victims to trust their own judgment.

Do I detect the voice of ChatGPT?

I actually thought tonight‘s episode was really well done. I didn’t think they would be able to sustain a whole episode that was filmed entirely on CCTV/body cams, but they pulled it off really well.

If nothing else, it served as a salutary reminder of just how much of our lives in an urban environment is now subject to surveillance. With the widespread introduction of facial recognition over the next couple of years it’s going to be increasingly easy for someone’s movements to be tracked on an almost constant basis.

I just hope that we don’t end up like China, where facial recognition CCTV is almost everywhere in towns and cities. It’s used to monitor people’s behaviour, and if you’re observed doing something that the state considers antisocial, be it dropping litter or demonstrating for freedom of speech, your “social credit“ account is debited accordingly.

You need a certain minimum of social credit points for things like your children being admitted to the local school or even to gain admission to a supermarket, so if your points balance falls below a certain amount you can be effectively excluded from society without any due process.

It seems inevitable that the Todd/Theo relationship is going to end with extreme violence, probably with one of them dying, so that there will be yet another murder trial. One of the clever aspects of tonight‘s episode was that I felt I was watching the evidence that will be used in the trial being gradually assembled before my eyes. A genuinely creative episode for a change.

Todd incredulous that Theo a 'tough masculine scaffolder' hadn't seen "It's a wonderful life" ...is like asking him had he watched Titanic or Steel Magnolias ...

Then of course watching it together after Theo smashes his laptop. ...of course.....

    4/10 for the storyline.. ..

Would the photo frame cameras have uploaded their footage to the cloud? If not, now Theo has found them he could smash them and destroy any evidence of abuse.

He might well have if he'd had a more sympathic officer dealing with him.
